First recipe of my blog!

Ok guys, sorry it took me a few weeks to actually start putting up a recipe. Also, I wanted to take a picture of every step, but didn't decide to put it on my blog until I was halfway done... oh well. Now to warn you. I am no Rachel Ray (even though I would love to cook like her!), so it doesn't look perfect, but boy was it yummy! Thank you to Mrs. Pamela Smothers  for giving me this, I am glad I was finally able to make it!

Here it is folks!

What you will need:
    8oz pork sausage
    1/4 cup butter
    1/3 cup flour
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
    1/4 tsp. curry powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
1 (13.5 oz) can chicken broth
    2/3 cup milk
    2 cups cubed chicken
1 (10 oz) pkg frozen peas

What you will do:
    1) Make pie crust (either top and bottom or just top. I personally used a top and bottom.)
    2) Brown the sausage, drain
    3) In the same skillet, melt the butter; blend in flour and all seasonings. Stir in broth and milk. Cook and
stir until bubbly. Cook for 1 more min.
    4) Add chicken, sausage and peas (along with any other veggie you prefer. I used mixed veggies) Pour
into pie plate/crust and cover with top crust.
    5) Bake at 375 for 45- 50 min

ENJOY!!

Here's mine....

this is before I placed all the yummy goodness into the pie plate.. delish!

Ok, so I was lazy and used pre-made crusts... use whatever floats your boat ya'll!

into the pie plate it goes... man o' man did it smell good!! (btw, it will be VERY full, no worries)

before it went in to the oven...

I have to say, I was pretty proud of myself for actually getting my crust edges right this time. You should have seen my first ever pie crust edges at Thanksgiving 2010 on my chocolate pecan pie... interesting. Hey! It was my first time...

and after... Mmmmmm, the smell was great! It didn't even drip that much in the oven either. I was happy how it turned out :-)

So, it didn't exactly come out as pie slices, but I tried. You can't beat an ice cold Root Beer to go along with it either.  Dig in people and savor the moment.....

Hope you enjoy!!!!
