Mini Vacation...

On Memorial Day weekend, Jimmy had off work, so I decided to surprise him and plan a mini vacation. He had already taken the time off the bus route Saturday and Sunday, so we had until Monday. Thursday evening, when he got home, I had already taken the girls to the babysitters and all I had to do was pack up our stuff and load it in the trunk. At this moment he had no clue what we were doing, where we were going or for how long. We finally got everything packed up and in the car and I told him I was driving :-) We ran by McDonald's for some dinner on the road and begun our 2 hour drive. Jimmy fell asleep for most of it and when we got to the exit, I woke him up and had him look at the sign, Marianna. It is just a very small city that really didn't have much to do, but we didn't really have alot of money to blow anyway, so I'm glad it didn't work out for us to go somewhere farther away. We found our hotel and went ahead and retired for the night, it was a looooooong day trying to get all the last minute details together, I was toast.

Friday, we went to the Florida Caverns and walked around for a bit and went on the Caverns tour. It was only 45 min, but it was so pretty and neat. We had some lunch and then went back for a nap... ah, the life of a "no money to spend" vacationer, lol. Anyway, we went out shopping and then out for dinner. Here are a few pics from the Caverns that I put together in a collage, so they didn't take up so much space.

And here are a  few others...
It felt so good in there, 62 degrees :-)

Odd angle, but I was trying to show that some were as tall as us!

We could touch this one!!

Sunset from our hotel room :-)

Of course I bought a pair of earrings, these were for Memorial day and to remind me of our trip everytime I look at them :-)

Saturday, we went to Three Rivers State Park, about 20-30 min away. Not much to do there either, we did a small bit of hiking and had a picnic.

And a few others...

Sunday, we went to 2 different church's, but we definitely liked the second one better. When we are on vacation and visit a church, it always makes me thankful for my church family!

We left Monday morning, went swimming for a while, took a nap and then picked up the girls. It was great to see them again! This little trip was so needed and I am so thankful we were able to do it! I am also happy I was able to keep it a surprise for Jimmy, he always guesses wht I am trying to keep secret, but he couldn't figure it out this time :-)
