Awesome date night and a broke truck

I was out with a great friend, Becky, in Pensacola Friday for a few hours of shopping and we were talking about dates. I said, " you know, its been a while since Jimmy and I went out on a date by ourselves." We have gone out several times, but with friends. When she dropped me off, I asked Jimmy if he wanted to go out. He said he would love too and we called his parents and asked if they could watch the kids. Of course they said yes, and off we went!!

First we went to Tractor Supply just because I had never been and we wanted to do some pricing for some items we want for out truck. We just walked around for a while looking at stuff and being together.  FYI, when you have kids, just walking through a store all by yourselves is AMAZING! Yes, I know that isn't the typical place to go on a date, but for us, it was so nice, lol.

We then decided we would give a second chance to a Chinese bistro in Pensacola we went to on a group date but had terrible service. Wow! We had AMAZING service and the food was even better than I remembered!!!! We sat inside this time with a candle on our table, the music low and hardly anyone there because it was 8:30 by then. It was amazing.

My AMAZING cowboy sushi. I am NOT a big fan of sushi that has fish in it, but this has "filet mignon steak, bacon, cream cheese, and avocado. Deep fried with panko, served with eel sauce and creamy spicy sauce." No, I don't know what "eel sauce" is but this stuff was absolutely amazing!

Jimmy decided to have sushi for his entire meal. I can't remember what his was and I couldn't find it on their website. The one on the right was soooo good but the one on the left had some raw stuff in it :-/ Jimmy loved them both though

For my entree, I had the honey chicken. Mmmm, so yummy.

Because it was already almost 9:30, we decided to run into Best Buy and price shop for a tablet to take place of my laptop. When Brennan was born, I asked Jimmy to get me an iPad to replace it, but I ended up HATING it. I am so not an apple person, so I sold it to a lawyer in Pensacola, lol.

haha, we thought this huge phone was hilarious. He said he is gonna upgrade to this :-0

Off we went to pick the kids up. We were driving on Hwy 90 down from Scenic Hwy when all of a sudden the battery light came on in our truck and the truck started slowing down. We were on one of the bridges and thank God we were able to coast just to the other side! It was pouring rain, so poor Jimmy was standing outside with an umbrella (which wasn't really helping) trying to see what was wrong. Nothing worked and the truck was just dying further. We ended up calling his dad and he came out with some gas, just on case, and the jumper cables. NOTHING worked, so he towed us home. The truck was so dead, we didn't even have flashers. It was pouring rain and I was SOOO scared someone was gonna fly up behind us and hit us. I don't know if I have prayed so hard in my life! We made it home safely and went and picked up the kids. Around 1:30 am, we finally fell into bed. What a long night it has been!

Saturday was church cleanup, but Jimmy really wanted to get the truck up and running, so we didn't go. He worked on it ALL day and came up with nothing. Our pastor even came over to help with one of his special tools. They ended up thinking it was a small part that had to do with our fuel system. The part... $700!!!! I was absolutely devastated. Being as it was so expensive they decided to go with a new brain for our truck as a start (the fuse that kept blowing was the ECM fuse), that part was only $100. Jimmy said he would change that part and if it didn't work, the truck was going into the shop. The part was supposed to come in Sunday afternoon.

daddy working on the truck while all the kids played outside. Kenna was trying to see what he was doing.

Sunday afternoon came and Jimmy decided to look it all up online one more time before he went to pick it up. He ended up reading about a wire harness that can accidentally rub on the drive shaft and brake the wires inside, leading to all the problems we were having. They described where it was and sure enough, this is what we found...

Jimmy did his thing and fixed the wires and it fired right up! He drove it down to an auto shop and had it checked out. Fixing those wires not only fixed that problem but also removed the errors we were getting with the "check engine soon" light. How much did it cost us you may ask? $0, absolutely free!!! I am so thankful Jimmy decided to look it up again and the Lord answered my many prayers throughout the weekend!! I drove my truck around town today running errands and it ran like a charm :-D

My husband is amazing and God is so good to us!
