What you need to grab:
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup shortening
2 large eggs
2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp cream of tarter
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
Step 1 - Mix sugar, butter, shortening and eggs
I love my Kitchen Aid y'all!!
Step 2 - Stir in flour, cream of tarter, baking soda and salt. If you are using self rising flour, like I did, omit the cream of tarter, baking soda and salt. (Usually I add 1/2 tsp baking soda to it anyway...)
Step 3 - Mix up the yummy cinnamon and sugar
Step 4 - Make balls of dough... I like to use a little cookie scoop, so all my cookies are the same size
Step 5 - Throw them into the bowl and roll them around, making sure they are good and coated
Step 6 - Put them on a lined cookie sheet. Line it with parchment paper, it helps the cookies not stick, and the same piece can be used every time. I never knew this until I made cookies for Christmas 10' and my mom in law told me. Oh, how I wish I would have known about this years ago! All those cookies I could have saved....
Step 7 - Bake for 8-10 minutes in a 400 degree oven. (I have found that exactly 9 min is the key, they look like they are not done, but trust me, they are) Place them on a cooling rack...
Put them wherever you please...on a platter, in a container, in the freezer... in your mouth... Ah, snickerdoodles.... they are super yummy and so soft. This recipe is by far the best!
Hope you enjoy!
